Solar energy can be used right from powering a calculator to an extend of generating power for grid connection. It offers versatile solutions to the energy needs. Generally any user should first prepare the requirement of power, as under shown as an example:
 
 
 
 
Now the requirement of Solar Module will be calculated as 2380/ 0.8 * 5 = 595W. The requirement of Battery will be as be as 2380/ 0.8 * 12V * 0.6 = 414 Ah. That means the battery will be 12V 120Ah (4 numbers).
 
 

The cost of the Solar Module is 6 SGD/W  and the cost of the entire system is 12 SGD/W . We have designed and developed 1 KW Solar Power Plant exclusively for domestic use. The system consists of the following:
The system can offer complete solution to the household for managing interruption in normal E.B. Power. The total plant will cost about SGD17,500.

 
 
*   20 Solar Panels of 50W each.
  Invertor of 2KW capacity.
*   4 Batteries of 12V 120AH.
 
 
Generally, the system generates about 6 KW Hr. of energy everyday. We fix certain DC lighting in the house which are used only from solar power and we connect certain load in the house to the inverter so that solar power will take over when the normal E.B. Power fails. The inverter is designed also to ascertain in case if the batteries are fully charged and if the solar power is available, it will be supplied to the load even if E.B. Power is available. Generally, this will be during 10A.M. to 4P.M.
